Hey To whom ever may read this. I have created this blog in the hopes that it will help bring Clay Evans Music to the masses. I will start by introducing myself. My name is Evan, yes different from Clay Evans. I moved to Nashville about a year ago and in my transistion I had the pleasure of meeting a guy named Clay Evans. At this time I only knew of Clay Evans the Bartender, not Clay Evans The Musician. After living hear for about a month I had seen some live shows around town all of which were great acts, but they blended in with the scene and none really stood out. Their Lyrics were similar, maybe some clever instramentals, but there were very few that I though about the next day. Then I was invited by a friend to go see a writers round with Clay Evans, Mike Willis, and Teresa Peterson. I thought it would be fun because I knew all three by now and was interested to see what they had, so I went. It was an acoustic show, and a show it was. Clay and Mike played their guitars while Teresa played her keyboard. They went down the line as each played something they wrote, and the other two would kinda play along. I had never seen something like this so just the idea of hearing three great artists in a personal setting for the price of one blew me away and I was hooked. I followed them as they played where they could, individually and together.
All three of them stood out to me in a sea of Nashville music but one stood out from those three. Clay Evans wrote songs like no one I have ever heard. His sound is is that of Paul Simon Meets Gavin Degraw and his lyrics are that like no one elses. But to give you an idea, Bens Folds Comes to mind. Through one of Clay Evans shows you will Laugh, you will sing, and you may questions your significant other but you will leave happy and wanting more. Check out more by visiting Clay Evans Myspace, and get to experience what this guy really has to offer to alot of people. They just need to hear him.
